ADDITIONAL NOTES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Song began as instant poem-writing on a scrap of paper; many months later,
the chord progression/riffage was written on guitar, and the combination of
both was an accident that turned out perfect.  Ironic post-analysis of the
song reveals that it's a classic cookbook I-IV-V, made in a period when the
author was actively trying to compose music that wasn't "do-ray-me."

An '87 Fender Strat was used on the original 4-track recordings, plugged
straight into a vintage Music Man 112RD amp with no distortion.
